WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?
WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?
Chances are, lots of shenanigans!
When you run a business with your family, that almost has to be the case, right? Actually, we love working together and honestly, it’s part of the magic of SolidRoots. Here, we value family. It’s who we are and it’s what we do.
We are on a mission to create unique content, products, and experiences that bring you closer to your people. We want your friends to become your family and your family to become your friends. Having solid roots is about connection to something deep and meaningful.
Over the years, we have found that some of the most profound moments of connection with our own friends and family came through fun and whimsical experiences we shared. The perfect gift, an unexpected party, a long-anticipated vacation. These became the memories that defined the days and years. Yes, they take time and energy to plan, but they are wonderfully worth it.
We created this company because we think having fun and being together is important. We’re here to help you celebrate life and each other.
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
Uncle Chip Weir
Sales & Cowboys
Uncle Chip was 14 when Jen was born so he's always been near the top of her Uncle List. Chip has come in and owned our customer and sales support to the point where everyone has just started asking for Uncle Chip. And if you've talked to him for more than a few minutes, you'll know he loves his OSU Cowboys.
Sr. Designer / Hufflepuff
Chris is sort of like our magic wand. You speak a vision out loud and BAM! Chris makes it real.
During the week, he designs all our products and does IT-ish things. But on the weekends, he moonlights as our family’s personal game show host / MC / in-house musician.
The British One
Edward married into the family, which instantly gave us a +10 in nerdiness. He's an actual rocket scientist & has run a D&D campaign for the last several years. Edi makes sure our games work. Plus, he gets very passionate about rules. Told you he was nerdy.
Besides watching the boats come over from China or making sure our shipments get out of the warehouse on time, he's also a huge nerd. But a very cool one. Greg worked for LucasFilm, so to say he's a Star Wars fan is like saying Chewbacca is hairy.
Jack peaked when he helped create the SolidRoots logo. Since then, he’s mostly been gaming on his PC/Xbox/Playstation. But we have been able to lure him away from time to time where he's honing his graphic design talents.
Chief Operations Officer + Momager
Janet manages our data, plus other things that require you to be a total genius. There’s a 99% chance she will have you laughing in the first 2 minutes of meeting her and she'll probably invite you to dinner.
CEO + Wannabe Imagineer
Jen is a sucker for experiences.
Over the years, she has spent countless hours thinking through, and creating one of a kind gifts and events for those she loves. She loathes the generic so she’s always looking for the personal details that turn ordinary moments into something special.
Executive Project Manager + Marketing
Jessica runs circles around all of us. If there's something to be done, she'll get it done in half the time of anyone else. With a background in marketing, she makes sure our stuff will sell.
Designer + Foodie
Kaylee's passion is flowers, but we make games so she's putting her incredible design skills to use and cranking out some of the most amazing game designs in the industry. Plus, she knows all the great Tulsa restaurants.
CFO & Spreadsheets
Kevin is the man that can turn anything into a process and measure it with a spreadsheet. The experience he brings to our team is invaluable. Literally. We tried to measure it with a spreadsheet.
Laura Beth Kaste
Professional Cat Herder
Laura Beth - or LB - is always ready to server. Whether it's your favorite drink from Starbucks or planning the next retreat, if something needs done, LB can and will do it. And while she's not *technically* family, she did marry Jen's best friend's son. So she's practically family.
Lindsay is a kindred spirit with our group. Most of us first met her when her family played MIND THE GAP LIVE during lockdown. Her family is pretty much like ours: loud, hilarious, and loves to play. So she definitely fits in. Oh, she also handles fulfilling orders as well.
Assistant to the Manager
Megan helps run our Product Development Team, making sure everything gets done. But still finds time to keep us entertained with "That's what she said..." jokes.
Accountant with Style
Mistie makes sure our i's are dotted and t's are crossed...but with numbers. And if we knew accounting could look this cool, we may not have avoided it for so long.
Life of the Party
Patrick is the creative force behind our Product Development Team. Our games are great in part because Patrick works too hard and loves too much.
Although she is our Gen Z-in-resident, she's an old soul who loves tea, her cat, and the Golden Girls (not necessarily in that order). Trinity has her hands in all things marketing.
The Rest of the Crew
Our products are inspired by Jen’s family who is obsessed with over-celebrating just about any occasion you can think of. They are loud, they are Italian, and they are fierce Rummy players. Their history is littered with hilarious stories, memories, and videos of ordinary occasions that turned into epic events. Some of their parties have been so wildly fun and over the top that they frequently have friends and neighbors ask if they can join in! Of course, they always say “Yes!”
Jo & Frank
You know those relatives that you dread seeing every year on Thanksgiving? That’s not Jo and Frank! They bring their cool Colorado vibe to the table as well as their savvy (and extensive) business expertise. They also bring some delicious food to the table from time to time. Frank is known for being able to add peanut butter to any recipe! Jo runs a tight ship and has the full-time job of keeping Frank in line. She is underpaid.
